Mimi Babe Harris
Mimi Babe Harris was born in Buffalo and raised in Rochester, NY. For 28 years she lived and worked in Roanoke, VA as a sculptor, painter, and teacher in area colleges, universities, and public schools. She received her undergraduate degree from SUNY at Brockport and graduate degree from Hollins University. She is now living in Bozeman, MT. Her public sculptures in Roanoke can be found in the Downtown Main Library, the historic Dumas Hotel Music Center, The Art Museum of Western Virginia, and in Century Square Park. As well as public works, she has exhibited widely throughout the mid-Atlantic coast and is in many private collections. Mimi's recent work, My Garden 2012 is a combination of her love of gardening and her long time love of fabric. The works are small format 3D fabric flowers on canvas and board.
